Effect of environmental fluctuations on the growth of vegetables.

Due to the extreme fluctuation in environment, the growth of plants especially vegetables affected very badly. Several factors can influence stand establishment in vegetable crop production. Utmost temperature causes the stunted growth and poor-quality vegetables. The seedlings grow irregularly sometimes the results in cholorosis. Higher humidity adds the chances of sucking insects/ pest infestation while hot, dry conditions generally explains that plants wilt quickly in the summer. Insufficient supply of water to the roots and leaves shows the lost of turgor pressure and leaves go limp while excessive of water spreads the diseases. Farmers cover the crops with covering material e.g. green net to maintain the temperature in hot summer days. Moisten the crops with sprinkler irrigation and use organic insecticides to control the insects. Application of growth hormones is also helpful for healthy growth of plants.
