In the plain areas of Punjab, especially during the spring, the number of pests that spread the virus is very high and therefore this crop is not suitable for better yield, while during the autumn crop from October to November. As long as the number of pests is low, the potato yield can be easily increased during this season.
This crop is sown from September 15 to October 20. Due to the high temperature in early cultivation, germination is reduced due to potato rotting and there is a risk of mites attacking the crop. Therefore potatoes should be sown at 20 to 25oC and crop will be harvested in January to February.
