Cultivate Olive Plants in Spring Season: Agriculture Experts

Soil pH from 5.5 to 8.5 is preferred for Olive Cultivation.

Agriculture Experts started distributing free Olive plants and decided to turn Potohar into olive valley. The area of Potohar region has suitable climatic conditions for olive cultivation as presence of wild olives at large area is already in the region.The plants can generally be grown where summers are warm and dry with mild rainy winter. It can be grown in all type of soil provided irrigation water is available but deep well drained sandy loam soil with 5% clay  and pH from 5.5 to 8.5 is preffered for olive growinng.Varieties such as  Gemlic, Coratina, Frontio, Arbequina, Arbosona, Koraneiki, Chetoui, Kalamata etc. are best for potohar region.
