Despite water scarcity: Pakistan helps farmers in enhancing agriculture production

Pakistan is among the top three countries which are facing water scarcity. It has badly affected the agricultural production. About 90% of the water is being consumed by the agriculture sector of Pakistan. Now Punjab government has provided subsidies of Rs 67.5 million for the installation of drip and sprinkler irrigation systems. These irrigation systems use 50% less water as compare to flood irrigation. It will be very helpful for farmers in enhancing the agricultural production.
