It is possible to achieve higher yield by cultivating the approved varieties “JS 2002, Hagari, JS 26, Chakwal millet, millet 2011” of Sorghum. Fodder growers can use 32kg of sorghum seed per acre. For the cultivation of sorghum, such heavy loamy soil should be selected where a proper drainage system is available. Soil preparation is of the utmost importance for a good crop, so the fodder growers soften and replenish the soil by three to four times plowing before planting the sorghum crop. Well rotten farmyard manure can also be helpful in giving high yields.
