Pomegranate farmers are recommended to protect plants from harmful insects’ pest attacks.
In summer, pomegranate plants are attacked by various harmful insects such as pomegranate fruit borer (Anar butterfly) and white fruit fly etc.
Pomegranate butterflies and fruit flies enter by making holes in the fruit and damage the fruit from inside by eating the pulp. Bacteria and fungus attack on these holes and cause fruit rot. The spray of lambda¬-cyhalothrin or trichlorfon 2.5 ml per liter of water is recommended during such attack.
