Farmers should complete the cultivation of Bt varieties of cotton by May 31.

Farmers should complete the cultivation of BT varieties of cotton: IUB 13, FH 142, MNH 886, Niab 878, BS 15, and non-BT varieties by May 31. Farmers should select other approved BT varieties of cotton in consultation with their area, soil type, water availability, and local staff of the Department of Agriculture (Extension). If seed germination is 75% or more, use 6 kg per acre delinted seed for sowing. Farmers can get certified seeds from the Punjab Seed Corporation at a discounted price. Farmers should apply proper pesticides to the seeds before sowing so that the crop is protected from the attack of sucking insects especially white flies for one month.
