Strategies should be followed to protect vegetables and orchards from the cold

According to agriculture experts, extreme cold causes water to freeze in the stems, branches and leaf cells of plants in form of crystals. This adversely affects the growth of plants and also causes the death of plants due to severe cold. Therefore, farmers should follow agricultural experts’ recommendations to protect plants from extreme cold. To protect the gardens from severe cold, the stems of the plants have to be polished with a solution of lime and copper sulphate. This will greatly reduce the effect of cold. Moreover, the effects of cold can be reduced by wrapping old bags or straw around the stalks of plants. Pests and diseases weaken plants, so they need to be dealt with in a timely manner to keep plants healthy and strong.
